All Clad Slow Cooker

The All Clad slow cooker can help anyone who is pressed for time. Simply set up your meal the night before or in the morning before work or school and you can come home to a scrumptious meal all ready to eat.

This slow cooker can make excellent stews, chicken dishes, pasta dishes, roasts and more. The booklet that comes with the cooker can get you started, and there are many more slow cooker recipes online and in cookbooks. Easy to use, all you need to do is add the food and set your controls; the slow cooker does the rest.

Positive Features

The All-Clad slow cooker looks great in the kitchen. It is easy to program, so you can choose to cook a meal in 4 hours or 8 hours. You can even fill it with ingredients and program it to begin cooking at a later time. The glass lid allows you to keep an eye on the food, and it won't heat up your house like using your oven does.

Cleaning is easy. A simple wipe down is adequate for the stainless steel housing, while the ceramic insert is easy to clean by hand or in the dishwasher. The 6.5 quart capacity is big enough to feed a large family. Two whole chickens or two medium sized roasts fit inside nicely. The black ceramic insert looks great on the table for serving.

While most slow cookers are used in the winter for stews and other cold weather foods, this one works great for summer foods too like pulled pork or barbecue ribs. It even works well with delicate foods like beans, keeping them intact after a long day of cooking.

Considerations

The All-Clad slow cooker is expensive, as slow cookers go. It doesn't offer that much more for the price than less expensive models. It is very heavy and the insert can be awkward to clean. Some cooks report the glass lid does not sit evenly on the top, resulting in a rattling sound. The enclosed recipe book only has a bare minimum of recipes to try.

Like any electrical appliance, sometimes there are issues. Some cooks feel that the slow cooker does not live up to All-Clad's reputation. Other people have had problems with the rubber feet coming off. Some have reported ordering problems like the item being out of stock. Some cooks would prefer a smaller capacity option, since a 6.5 quart capacity is not always needed or addressed in many recipes. It cooks a little hotter than most crock pots, which can be a problem if you are working a long day.
