Calphalon makes two different Dutch ovens in this line of cookware. There is a roomy 8 quart oval Dutch oven that is big enough for a large roast or chicken. A smaller, round 5 quart Dutch oven is perfect for soup, a side dish or anything else you want to serve in it.

These Calphalon Dutch ovens are perfect for browning because of their flat bottoms. The heavy-gauge cast iron retains heat well and keeps your food hot while it is on the table.

Cast iron also distributes the heat evenly while cooking. These ovens feature large handles to make moving them easy. The cover is domed to provide automatic basting for the foods within.

Cooking with the Enamel Cast Iron

They are oven safe to 500 degrees and due to their durable enamel coating, they are dishwasher safe as well as washing easily by hand.

Do not use these pans under the broiler and be sure and let the pan cool completely before washing.

Don't use metal utensils on these ovens, as the metal may chip the enamel surface. Only use wooden, nylon or coated utensils.
