Calphalon Infused Anodized Cookware

We give the Calphalon One Infused-Anodized 8-Piece Cookware Set a star star star star rating.

If you’re thinking about buying cookware you may feel daunted. There are so many sets like Calphalon Infused Anodized Cookware that it will make your head spin when shopping.

So, before you head to the store, there are a few tips you should know. First, the $30 set of cookware seems like a bargain, but its not. Its flimsy, won’t last, and won’t cook your food anywhere near as well as a more professional set.

Such might be fine for the college dorm or apartment, but not for anyone who enjoys cooking at home.

If you’re reading this article, you’re probably someone who spends a fair amount of time in the kitchen. That means you deserve decent cookware that will last a long time. This article examines infused-anodized construction in cookware to help you make informed choices.

Positive Features

calphalon infused anodizedThe concept behind Calpahlon Infused Anodized Cookware is taking the best of non-stick pans and marrying them with metal.

The goal here is to give people real control in their cooking, especially with sticky items. This cookware is designed as stainless and non-reactive (meaning you can easily cook acid-laden foods like tomatoes without getting that tinny taste).

It’s also intended to be used on any cook surface – gas, electric, and even glass stovetops. So overall, the makers were thinking about versatility.

Eight pieces is a good starting point for a kitchen. This set has a 3 quart chef’s pan, 4 1/2 quart sauce pan, 8 quart stock pot, 10 inch and 12 inch fry pans. The lids seem very secure so they’ll hold in heat, flavor and nutrients while you cook. Also Calpahlon took a cue from the French in the shape of these pans – very classic and pleasing visually.

Considerations

I found very few cons for this Calphalon Infused Anodized 8-piece cookware set. The most common complaint was that food does stick occasionaly to the pans.

But as one reviewer noted that heating the pan and oil up to the right temperture prevented sticking, when frying or sauteing. Adding cold food to the pan also caused food to stick.

The metal lids are good for sealing, but not good for being able to monitor your food without opening the pot. In effect, they undermine their purpose by design.
