Circulon Dutch Oven
A Dutch oven, sometimes also called a camp oven, is a nice addition to any kitchen. If you're in the
market for one, take a look at the
Circulon Dutch Oven
.
Where traditional Dutch ovens are made out of
very hefty cast iron, this one has been crafted in hard-anodized aluminum with a stainless steel base.
This combination makes the pot far easier to move from stovetop to oven, while maintaining the
traditional one-pot meal appeal.
Positive Features
The Circulon Dutch Oven is certainly a sturdy product. Like many Circulon cookware products it has hi-low wave
technology that protects the nonstick surface while also distributing heat evenly. The handle has been
crafted from stainless steel that’s secured by rivets into the pan.
Additionally the exterior of this
pot is also nonstick, making for easy cleanup. Better still this Dutch Oven is safe up to 500
degrees in your stove, and can go into the dishwasher!
The real treat of this Dutch oven is not having to season it to enjoy the ease of nonstick cooking.
Considerations
If you have a glass top stove you have to be very careful with this Dutch Oven. If you put a
hot pot on a cold burner, you can do serious damage to your stove.
Some reports have said that the nonstick exterior washes off leaving a rather tattered appearance,
and that the construction of this pot isn’t as heavy as earlier models.
Price wise this retails for a hefty $100 unless you buy it on sale ($50). $50 is justifiable but
$100 for one 5 ½ quart pan – not so much so. Finally you may find the performance on this pot not
as satisfying as a traditional cast iron one.
Consumer Reviews
Other than the Circulon Dutch Oven’s limitations on a glass top stoves, consumer feedback has been
very positive regarding this pot.
Specifically buyers say that even after seriously burning food the
pan cleans up with fantastic ease. They also seem to like the size – not too small or too huge, making
it ideal for a variety of meals.
