Cuisinart GR4 Griddler

The Cuisinart GR4 Griddler offers four different cooking options to the home cook.

With this single small appliance, you can make pancakes, steaks, panini sandwiches, burgers and sausages. It is easy to feed a crowd with the Griddler on your side.

It cleans up easily after use. The generous size of the cook top is handy for any size family.

With a flip of the cooking plates and a quick adjustment of the floating hinge you can easily switch from pancakes for breakfast to paninis for lunch.

Cuisinart Griddler Grill Positive Features

The Cuisinart GR-4 Griddler is easy to use. The griddle plates are removable, easy to clean and are dishwasher safe. The appliance heats up quickly, and temperature is easily controlled with convenient knobs.

A soft mushroom brush can help get into any little areas that are difficult to clean. Changing from one plate to another is very simple, as is adjusting the floating hinge. You can use the grill either closed or open.

Considerations

The Cuisinart GR-4 Griddler is easy to use, but the grease cups don't fulfill their function at all. Grease ends up on the counter beneath the grill. This makes for an unnecessary mess after every use.

Some meats leave a black crust on the grill lines from juices that were unable to run off, making clean up a chore. Eggs will pour right off the griddle unless you block the corner of the grill. Others have complained that their chicken did not cook evenly, and the fat did not drain properly.

The grill is a bit pricey, especially if there are points that don't work as desired. The grill plates scratch very easily, so be careful what utensils you use with it.

Grease and juices can seep under the plates to the area where the heating coils are located. The top gets extremely hot. The hinge can release easily, making it easy to get burned if the top falls forward.

Summary

The Cuisinart GR-4 Griddler can be a handy appliance to have around, depending on what you intend to cook. It can work great for grilling sandwiches, steaks, chicken breasts and many other dishes.

On the other hand, you need to be cautious with how you work with your grill. Grease can make a mess, and the plates can get scratched. There have been some issues you may want to check out before purchasing.

The griddler by Cuisinart costs quite a bit. If you plan to use it frequently, it may be worth the expense. If you only want to use it occasionally, it may not be worth the price.
