Cuisinart Griddle and Grill
Cuisinart GG-22 Grill ReviewFor kitchens to look their best, there needs to be an uncluttered appearance. That makes multi-function tools like the Cuisinart Griddle and Grill great options especially for space-impaired pantries.
This is a duo-action grill and griddle combination so you can easily make everything from breakfast pancakes to a nice steak with but a flip of the wrist.
Positive FeaturesEveryone likes easy cleanup so the nonstick surface of this machine is a sure-fire selling point. Another great feature is a special grease plate thats set up so the oils go through slits into a dipping tray underneath the unit.
Anyone who has ever been splattered by excess oil while theyre frying, or had to clean up overflowing oil on the stove will really appreciate this design idea.
The stainless steel base is very stable, and believe it or not the cooking plate is dishwasher safe (thats something very unique). The surface of the grill is big enough for an average family to use for a main meal.
ConsiderationsWhile I like having a two-in-one appliance, this measures 24 x 13 so its not tiny. While that gives it an excellent cooking surface, finding a way to store it could prove problematic. The draining feature on the Cuisinart griddle and grill is great but dont try to make scrambled eggs! Theyll drain right through unless you have a very fast hand.
One final down-side is that as with any non-stick coating you need proper utensils when cooking on either side of this. Metal will scratch and damage that treatment.
Consumer ReviewsThe majority of buyers for this product seem mostly very happy with their purchase. They love the size it offers to a growing family and the ability to make Panini-style sandwiches or grill steak and fish all on one tool. The design also got a lot of kudos from consumers they say it looks very nice on the counter.
On the down side complaints include the shortness of the power cord (which limits where you can locate the Cusinart griddle and grill). Its only 33 inches long.
Some consumers mentioned that the drip pan has a sharp edge that could cause a cut if youre not careful when rinsing.
Others seemed to have faulty temperature probes right out of the box. These did not seem to be isolated issues, and if you buy direct from Cuisinart you can expect to pay for shipping to return the item.
SummaryThe price of the Cusinart griddle and grill ranges between $99.95 and $140 depending on where you shop. The majority of users have been very happy with their purchase and the products performance.
The only real consideration is storage when not in use. Take a close look at your available space.
At the time of writing this review Amazon had this griddle and grill 29% off for $99.95.
