DeLonghi Dual Zone Deep Fryer
Review of the Delonghi D14522DZ 4-Liter Deep Fat FryerThe DeLonghi Dual Zone Deep Fryer is built with an extra large three pound food capacity (that's 4 liters).
Food fries evenly and thoroughly. The generous size is perfect for large families. The new Dual Zone technology creates a cool area just underneath the heating element. This helps prevent food from burning.
The thermostat is adjustable. You can easily set the temperature you want and the handy indicator light lets you know when the oil is ready. Clean up is easy thanks to removable parts. You can put the lid, fry basket and bowl in the dishwasher.
The stainless steel lid has a permanent mesh filter inside that prevents oil vapors from escaping to your kitchen. A built in viewing window lets you check on your food without fear of spattering.
Positive FeaturesThe DeLonghi Dual Zone Deep Fryer looks small, yet it can cook a large quantity of foodand it doesn't take up a large space on the counter.
It holds an entire gallon of oil, making it easier to maintain the temperature. The accuracy of the temperature is pretty good.
Food is cooked quickly so it doesn't have time to soak up any grease. Cleaning up is a snap. Since the whole fryer comes apart, it all wipes clean. Most parts can go right in the dishwasher.
There were no oil leaks and the cord stayed attached, which can sometimes be a problem with magnetic cords.
Oil can be drained through the handy spigot on the bowl. The whole thing is made of stainless steel instead of aluminum.
One major design flaw is the plastic bracket that attaches the heating element to the metal frame.
Over time, the bracket weakens and cracks. Once it cannot hold the element, the unit is useless. If the company would replace it with a metal bracket, this issue would be solved.
SummaryThe DeLonghi Dual Zone Deep Fryer has a large food capacity and can feed a crowd. It heats the oil well and is simple to clean. The majority of testers had great experiences with this machine.
They made chicken, shrimp, fries and tempura without a hitch. The fryer is simple to clean and many parts can go in the dishwasher. Oil can be drained easily through the convenient spigot.
The stainless steel frame not only looks good, it is sturdy and helps hold the heat.
Some customers found that the magnetic electrical cord was not reliable in its connection to the unit. The smallest variation in angle would disconnect the cord and turn the unit off.
Others found that the bracket that secures the heating element was unreliable.
Replacement parts are not reasonably priced. Electronics may or may not prove reliable.
Even with all of these negative points, the majority of users liked the fryer. Your mileage may vary when it comes to longevity for this fryer.
