The vast majority of the reviews for the Rachael Ray Stainless Steel cookware were positive.

Pros: Buyers found that the pans lived up to expectations and advertised quality and performance. They appreciated the evenness of cooking afforded by the aluminum, the ability to monitor their meals through the glass lids and the fact that the set can go from the stovetop to oven without any problems.

Cons:The negative issues reported included the glass tops cracking, leaking from the rivet area on the handle, and poor customer service on the manufacturer's help line.

Features and Benefits

What's Included in the Set

  • 1 1/2-Quart saucepan with lid
  • 3-Quart saucepan with lid
  • 8-Quart stockpot with lid
  • 8” Open skillet
  • 10” Open skillet
  • 10-inch/ 3 Quart sauté pan with lid

The depth of the sauté pan is particularly pleasing, you can actually make a whole meal in here if you want (it can even go into the oven since it's safe to 400 degrees).

Exterior of Pans

If you look at the picture of the cookware set you will notice that they have a bell shape to them, slightly larger at the bottom and narrower at the top. They have a satin finish instead of the shiny stainless steel that you will find with many stainless steel cookware sets.

The thick aluminum-capped base solves that all-important heat distribution problem that plain stainless experiences. Aluminum is a great heat conductor for providing fast and even heat with out any hot spots.

Cooking with high heat is not recommended, a low to medium heat is suggested for cooking with stainless steel.

Interior of Pans

Made with the same satin stainless steel as the exterior of the pan.

Handles

The handles on this set are covered in the signature orange silicon that appears on some of Rachael Ray cookware.

They are made out stainless steel, high-arching and stay cool on the stove top. Also the handles of the pots are double riveted to the pan for durability and saftey.

Cleaning and Care

These are dishwasher safe but hand washing is recommended. Over a period of time harsh dishwsher detergents may dull the finish.

Oven

Oven-safe to 400 degree F.

Lids

The glass lids on the Rachael Ray Stainless Steel set allow you to look at your food while it's cooking. A good chef knows this helps retain nutrients and flavor because you do not have to open the top so often.

Warranty

Limited lifetime warranty. Here is a quote from the warranty. "The Lifetime Limited Warranty guarantees your cookware to be free from defects in materials and workmanship under normal household use for the lifetime of the cookware. Meyer Corporation promises the original purchaser to replace any defective part or item during the guarantee period.

Scratches, stains, discoloration or damage caused by the use of cooking sprays or overheating are not covered by this warranty. Additionally, this warranty does not cover damage caused by accident, misuse, abuse, commercial use or incidental or consequential damages."

Cooking with Stainless Steel

Always allow food to come to room temperature. Chilled food added to a heated pan causes it to stick.

Preheat your pan on a low to medium heat.

Use a small amount of butter or oil to help in food release. Make sure to add your oil or butter about one minute before adding your food. This helps sear the food immediately.

We found that most online retailers have this set priced at $199.99. At the time of writing this review, Amazon had this set discounted below retail price.
