Wolfgang Puck KnivesWolfgang Puck has lent his name to a couple different sets of professional quality kitchen knives: a multiple piece cutlery set, and a set of Santoku knives. Both sets come with a wooden storage block. Santoku knives, for those not familiar with them, are all-purpose Asian knives that combine the features of a chef's knife and a cleaver. It is perfect for vegetables, fish and meat. A Santoku knife is designed with indentations, or kullens, along the edge to reduce friction against the food. It also helps prevent food from sticking to the blade. The blade is wide enough to serve as an impromptu spatula to move your chopped food to the pan. Perfect for food preparation like chopping, slicing, peeling and other routine kitchen tasks. Like all quality knives, they should not be put in the dishwasher. They should be carefully hand washed and dried. Positive FeaturesEach knife has a full tang. They are rust resistant and the price is extremely reasonable. Overall, the Santoku knives are of better quality than the cutlery set. ConsiderationsThe knives in the cutlery set dull quickly and need to be sharpened frequently. One customer had issues with the metal shaft inside the handle breaking. The finish isn't perfect… there are small visible imperfections in the blade's polish.Using the dishwasher will stain the knives and possible cause rust if water sits on the blade. They require regular honing to maintain their sharpness. Features
